About

The oldest printing method. Draw or trace your image onto the block provided, wood ,lino or MDF, then with the sharp tools suppliedcut along the drawn lines making grooves. After rolling over with printing ink press paper onto the inked surface; either rub by hand with something smooth like a spoon or put through a relief press (we have a wonderful Albion)

When paper is pulled away the image that you have cut will emerge, (white on black, or whatever coloured ink used) the cut marks will be white; and the image in reverse e.g lettering will be mirror image

All sorts of variations are possible, including multiple colour blocks, reduction and Picasso’s “ white ink method” Large editions can be printed, as the blocks deteriorate scarcely at all.
