Drypoint is a simple and safe intaglio process.

Whilst the end result resembles a line etching, it does not require corrosive acids. Instead it utilises plastic or perspex sheet into which an image is scratched with metal points.

Etching ink is rubbed into the lines and cleaned off the other surfaces, then printed with an etching press.
