Scrum Down – Print Forward

As part of the celebrations for the Rugby World Cup, workshops from the host cities were invited to take part in a World Record Lino print.

Birmingham Printmakers worked with a number of community groups and printmaker members to play their part in breaking the world record for the largest print.

The final print measured 33.51metres, with around 3 metres of that created by Birmingham Printmakers.

Frans Wesselman demo

BPM was delighted to host a demo by printmaker Frans Wesselman. Frans showed BPM members his method for combining relief printing in colour with a black etched ‘key block’. You can access Frans’ website here  and view examples of his stained glass work as well as his printmaking. Frans was kind enough to leave the print created for display.
